  3. Known limitations/Information for FTPD NLM Version 1.31
  4.  
  5.     1. The LIST command returns the current effective rights
  6.         for the attached user. The effective rights are correctly
  7.        displayed on NW386 3.11 servers, but older 2.15 servers
  8.        incorrectly display the effective rights for files as
  9.        having no rights. 
  10.  
  11.        This will be fixed in a future release.
  12.  
  13.     2. Users with the special ALPHA version of CLIB.NLM shipped with
  14.        The NLM development kit 2.0(c) may experience difficulty
  15.        when unloading the FTPD NLM. 
  16.  
  17.        This appears to be a problem ONLY with this special alpha release
  18.        of the CLIB.NLM, and it does not effect any normal CLIB shipped
  19.        with the NW386 3.11 disks.
  20.  
  21.        A work-around has been applied to the FTPD.NLM, but has not been
  22.        thoroughly tested before it was shipped.
  23.  
  24.        For best results, ensure that the FTPD display is off before
  25.        unloading the NLM.
  26.  
  27.        The display is off by default, but if you enabled it you can
  28.        turn it off by issuing the command
  29.  
  30.             ftpd displayoff
  31.  
  32.     3. When using the NLM to access other servers via the proxy
  33.        capability (ie: entering a server name with the userid when
  34.        first logging in), the console setting
  35.  
  36.         reply to get nearest server = no
  37.  
  38.        must *NOT* be used.
  39.  
  40.        Netware 386 defaults to answering `get nearest server'
  41.        requests. If you have set this to `no', then proxy service
  42.        won't work due to a bug in the Netware operating system.
  43.        
  44.        This bug is not fatal, it simply inhibits the FTPD NLM
  45.        from being able to login to remote servers to provide
  46.        FTP service.
  47.  
  48.     4. After unloading the FTPD.NLM, you may have to wait 60 seconds
  49.        before reloading it to allow the TCPIP.NLM to clear the previous
  50.        listen connection. Although the socket is marked as SO_REUSEADDR,
  51.        the TCPIP.NLM does not appear to always honor that request, and
  52.        will display
  53.  
  54.         FTPD:error bind:address already in use
  55.  
  56.        The solution is to wait one minute before reloading if this
  57.        message appears, or to unload and reload the tcpip.nlm
  58.  
  59.        To restart the FTPD.NLM (after changing the ftpd.cfg file)
  60.        use the `FTPD reconfig' command instead of unloading and
  61.        reloading the NLM.
